RUE Kyungridan is a cafe that’s easily accessible from the main Gyeongridan street. It took me a while, but I finally checked out RUE Kyungridan to unwind a bit from my long morning. Despite this being in my neighbourhood, I hadn’t been able to visit here yet. Now that I have, I regret not checking this place out sooner!

Upon entering the cafe, I looked at both the indoor and the outdoor seating areas. Both areas appealed to me, and I found myself thinking that I’d really enjoy the outdoor seating when it’s spring or autumn. Both the inside and the outside is decorated tastefully with good natural lighting. For my first visit, I decided to sit inside with the street view. Despite it being right by street, the noise level was surprisingly quiet. Along with its nice ambience, I found the workers to be polite and pleasant, and I was pleased with their service.

As for my food and drink, after browsing their menu — which consists of coffee, tea, ades, juices, smoothies, beers, sandwiches, cakes and et cetera — I tried their lime and basil ade and their dark chocolate cake. I originally wanted their Earl Grey cake, but that option was sold out. Aside from that little bit of disappointment, I really enjoyed their lime and basil ade. It was so refreshing after being outside in the hot weather. It has a great flavour, and it’s definitely something I’ll be getting again! The combination of lime and basil sounds odd, but they complement each other really well. I can’t say the same for their cake, though. It was a decent cake, but it wasn’t anything to write home about. Still, that lime and basil ade . . . just thinking about the drink is making me want it again!

On an end note, this is a great place to hang out with friends. The outdoor area, especially, would be a great place to sit and talk and chill with small or medium-sized group. It’s also a pleasant place to come and relax with a book or work on a laptop. I had a relaxing time working on my Chromebook. This a very solid, good independent cafe, and it’s a place I will be returning to often!
