I met up with a friend in Itaewon, and I suggested to her we check out this cafe I’d been wanting to go to that’s in between Itaewon and the Yongsan-gu Office. However, I led us down the wrong street, so we didn’t make it to our original destination. Instead we found a lovely cafe located right behind the Yongsan-gu Office. The white exterior appealed to us, and we could see that the inside looked just as appealing, so we decided to check this cafe out.
It is truly a lovely place. The interior is nicely decorated. The layout of the place allows for ample amount of seating and more in the warmer months due to their outdoor seating. There were quite a few people there when we went, yet the place never became super loud. My friend and I both noticed the pleasant sound level, and we decided that this would be a great place to return if we needed a place to work on our projects, especially since they set up an area with a huge table for people to do various projects or where a big group can sit and socialise.
The prices are comparable to other cafes in the areas, ranging from 4,000 won to 10,000 won per person. They sell espresso-based drinks, teas, juices, ades, beers, sangrias, and cakes. I tried their European latte (6,000 won) and grapefruit ade (6,000 won). Their European latte was a latte with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The portion was huge, and I found that the coffee tasted quite strong. Their grapefruit ade was also huge and it tasted super fresh. My friend ordered a lemon tea (5,000 won), and she was quite impressed with it, stating that it had a good flavour and it was even sour.
The service provided by the worker turned out to be an excellent one. They were polite and courteous. At one point they noticed that our jackets were touching the ground because we were sitting in low chairs, and they pulled up another chair for us to pile our stuff on it. And at one point they didn’t have enough change for me, but they quickly went out to bring more change and made sure I got it quickly.
In the end, my friend and I grew to love this little cafe. Their drinks and prices were excellent for the amount, the service provided by the workers was fantastic, and the interior and the atmosphere proved to be a wonderful combination. I only wished I’d found this place sooner! I asked how long they’d been around, and they’d been opened for about four years now. This is a great cafe that’s away from all the hustle and bustle of Itaewon. I highly recommend this place!

Cross the street and then make a right at Skinfood, walking toward Yongsan-gu Office. You will pass by these little streets and alleys on your left. On the fourth one, right before the Yongsan-gu Office, go down that street. Make a right at the intersection, and Magnolia Design Cafe will be on your left about 45 metres away.
